If I buy a house in one state and work in another; how do the taxes work?
We live in Jacksonville, FL but work not too far from GA. Home prices here are a little high so we were considering looking at homes in Camden County, GA. Someone told us if we did that we would have to pay taxes in both states. Is this true?

Answer 1 :
We own a home in Indiana and a condo in Florida. We have our homeowners exemption here in Indiana because this house is our primary residence. We pay Florida real estate taxes as well. The state doesn't care where you work, you will still have to pay real estate taxes for where ever the house is located. We have the same situation as you. We live near Illinois which has higher proper values and taxes than here in Indiana.
Answer 2 :
you pay taxes on your wages in the state you work in and the state where you reside. So yes that is true!
Answer 3 :
What tax are you reffering to? Property? Capital Gain? Income?
